Kaya Bora Initiative, Kenya

‘Kaya Bora’, meaning ‘small village’ in Kiswahili is the title under which we are placing our work with community-based organizations in Kenya, Africa.  The organizations we are working with are:
These organizations are being run by exceptional community leaders, who have a strong vision for the improved livelihoods of people in their communities and who have displayed dedicated commitment to that vision.  CAN ensures that there is a personal connection with each organization it chooses to work with, with either Directors or Ambassadors spending time with the CBO so as to ensure the relevancy and urgency of each project, as well as the successful implementation of projects funded.

The goal of the Kaya Bora Initiative is to assist these Kenyan community leaders in their education, drought resistance, clean water, women’s empowerment and food security programs, as well as be facilitators for the spread of these programs throughout all rural communities in Kenya.
